Guiding Principles
- We place a premium on choice. Individuals must be able to choose where they live and with whom.
- Plans must be based on the needs of individuals and not the needs of funding sources or regulatory agencies.
- Housing arrangements must be made separate from service provider agencies.
- Any plan must include adequate services and supports.
- We will make use of existing community resources wherever possible.
- Individuals with mental disabilities can and should become tax paying citizens of our communities who give back to the community where they live by using their income to buy groceries, pay taxes, and live like any other community member.
